
Katy Malcott
DVM
Dr. Katy Malcott is originally from southeastern Virginia where she grew up riding and showing horses. She attended Virginia Tech for her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and DVM, graduating in 2014. After veterinary school, she married her husband Kelly, a Montana native, and joined him in Montana. After practicing mixed animal medicine in Havre for 2 years, they were excited for the opportunity to come back to the Gallatin valley and Dr. Katy joined the team at Sorensen Veterinary Hospital in September 2016. She enjoys beef production medicine as well as both small and large animal surgery.
When not at the office, Dr. Katy loves spending time with Kelly and their daughter, Rylee, exploring this beautiful state while floating, fishing, horseback riding, snowshoeing, or camping.

Hannah
Veterinary Assistant
Hannah is an Army Brat who grew up “all over the place”, but fell in love with Montana while attending Rocky Mountain College and earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Equestrian Studies in 2011. Years later, Hannah began work in the veterinary field and is currently enrolled in online college to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Hannah spends her free time exploring Montana as much as possible, but when she’s not outside she can be found in the kitchen trying a new recipe, or snuggled up with her crew or two dogs and two cats watching Netflix.

Karlee
Veterinary Assistant
Karlee was born in Red Lodge, Montana and moved to Belgrade at the age of three. She attended school and grew up in Belgrade before moving to Wyoming for a few years. Recently she returned to Belgrade in 2018 and started working at Skyline Veterinary Hospital in 2019. She has always had an interest in working with animals and has owned cats, dogs, and horses for most of her life.
When not at work, Karlee loves spending time with her family, her sweet German Shepherd named Izabelle, and her cat, Rosalee. She enjoys hiking, horse back riding, mounted archery, reading, and doing various crafts.

Brenee Peterson
DVM
Dr. Brenee Peterson grew up on her family's farm north of Havre, MT. Her family raises Polled Hereford cattle and farms many acres of wheat. At a young age, she knew she wanted to be a part of agriculture and decided to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Brenee earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Montana State University. After receiving her degree, she attended veterinary school and was part of the inaugural class of the WIMU program through Washington State University. Right after veterinary school, she worked as an associate veterinarian in both Havre and Hysham, MT. Dr. Brenee enjoys practicing mixed animal medicine along with performing surgeries. In her off time, she enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding, playing polo and helping on the farm. She also enjoys going on adventures with her two mutts Tony and Turk.

Melissa
Certified Veterinary Technician
Melissa grew up in Minnesota where she graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2010 with a bachelors degree in Geography. She then graduated from Argosy University in 2012 with her Veterinary Technician degree. Melissa moved out to Montana in August 2012 to intern at Sorensen Vet Hospital and was hired on as a large animal tech after the internship and becoming a Certified Vet Tech. As life has evolved she’s now a mixed animal tech, working with both large and small animals. When not at work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband Lance and their daughters, riding their horses, hiking with their dogs Mud and Badger, working their growing herd of red angus, hunting, and eating cookies.

Kota
Veterinary Assistant
Kota grew up in Rogers, Minnesota and moved to Bozeman in 2017 to be a part of the pre-medical program at Montana State University. She has always had a love for animals, from rodents and lizards to cats and dogs, all of which currently reside in her own home. In between work and school, Kota enjoys spending time hiking with her dogs, cooking, and crafting at home with her cat, Ollie.

Kelsey Baver
DVM
Dr. Kelsey Baver is a fourth-generation, native Montanan. She grew up on a cattle ranch near Red Lodge, then attended Montana State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology/ Animal Systems in 2006. Later, she attended Washington State University in Pullman, Washington to receive her DVM in 2012. Montana called her back, and she joined the team at Sorensen Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian in May 2012. Dr. Kelsey is interested in internal medicine, preventative care, and toxicology.
When not working, Dr. Kelsey loves to be with her husband Nathan and their dogs Eli & Nellie, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, mountain biking, or horseback riding.

Sarah
Certified Veterinary Technician
Sarah was born in Sidney, MT. She has lived in many locations around the state but has always called Montana home. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology from the University of Montana in 1997. After working in the field of Veterinary Technology for many years she was able to take the board exam and achieved her certification as a veterinary technician in 2005. Sarah is a new mom of two amazing boys and they take up most of her free time. Along with her husband Dan, she enjoys Nordic skiing, backpacking, snowboarding and has recently started exploring the U.S. in their RV.

Katy grew up in Butte Montana and moved to Bozeman Montana in 2017 to go to college at
Montana State University. Katy graduated college in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in
Microbiology on the Pre-Veterinary Track. Katy is in the middle of applying to veterinary school
to hopefully attend in the fall of 2023. In her free time, she loves to explore Montana to find all
the hot springs. She also really enjoys going to concerts and spending time with friends/family.
She also enjoys snuggles with her one-eyed cat, Kiba.
